Jeff and I sat on the porch tonight watching the sun set over the trees and reflecting on all that’s happened in the past year or so. I remember sitting in these same rocking chairs, watching the same horizon just under a year ago, dreaming excitedly and fearfully about what being all in with Time to Revive might mean. We had sensed the significance of God’s plans for this ministry in the Kingdom of God, and we had seen with our own eyes and felt with our own hearts the power of what He was doing through this team. We had heard God invite us to invest in this ministry however He would lead, and we were just beginning to walk out what that would look like.
God is so patient and loving to lead us like a good and kind Father. He overwhelmed us with His love and goodness through Time to Revive, and thrilled us with the depth of joy found in the journey of following Him. And then He took us by the hand and led us one step at a time. He knew our faith at the time couldn’t handle the call to take the leap of faith, leave the security of jobs we loved, and raise support to become full-time missionaries all at once. So He led us gently and lovingly over the next months, continuing to prove faithful over and over as we followed Him in each little step of faith. Whether it was stepping out to take a new role or traveling for a week at a time or juggling kids and ministry and family all on the road, He proved faithful every…single…time. And with each step of faith we took and every time He met us there, our faith expanded and gave us the courage we needed to take the next step He placed before us.
So now here we are, one year later, with 80% of our funds raised in just over 80 days, and weeks away from officially becoming active in our role as full-time missionaries with Time to Revive. I wouldn’t have believed you if you told me this would be true. But we are so amazed by God’s goodness and His faithfulness, and we are so excited about what’s to come. We’re eager to invest in this ministry fully, pouring into Indiana communities and communities all over our nation as God leads us, uniting and equipping the Church to share the Gospel and make disciples. Because we know that just as He has led us patiently and lovingly as a good Father to where we are now, He will continue leading and guiding us with each and every step we take. And He will continue to be faithful, every single time.
One of the best ways I’ve ever heard it: God is previous. No matter where you are, no matter where God calls you. God is previous.
